The quiet wrist
A short note on watches as a notification sieve rather than a trophy face. Full spec story still in the tray.

A sieve, not a scoreboard
A wrist computer in daily UK use is often doing one adult job: deciding which pings deserve the phone coming out of a pocket. Heart-rate charts and ring scores are a different story, and they are easy to over-claim.
We will not invent VO2 numbers or sleep stages we did not record. If you want a class conversation — small watch, long battery, or a phone-for-the-wrist — ask on-site. No purchase starts from that form.
Spec callout
Battery as a weekday, not a slogan
Published wearables in the “watch” class range from a day-and-a-bit to a week-plus, depending on always-on displays and GPS habits. Your actual drain is a usage story.
Manufacturer-published bands, unverified here.
